About Us

The boat you will be fishing out of is a Hewescraft 210 Sea Runner. This Sea Runner is equipped with all new electronics including Lowrance HDS Live Fish Finders, Radar, Auto Pilot, and Fishhawk. We run four Scotty Electric Downriggers when trolling. We also run a wide range of Lead Core, Dipsy Diver, Copper,  Board, and Pump Handle Setups. If your new to trolling and interested in learning how to get into trolling or how to fish the Apostle Islands area we will do what we can to guide you. If your looking to get out on the water kick back and catch a few fish we can help with that as well with our fishing charters.   

We offer a few different fishing packages to fit your interest. We offer trips of 1 to 4 people and can do half day trips as well as full day charter fishing trips in the apostle islands . We also break our trips down to inshore fishing and off shore fishing. Most of our fishing is within the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior.  Our home port that we generally will leave from is City of Washburn. We do trailer our boat so if the fish are biting in other areas we may leave from another port in our area such as Bayfield, Red Cliff, or Saxon. We generally will leave the boat launch at 6:00 AM for full day trips. Half day trips we can schedule a time in the morning or afternoon. 

• Half Day Trip- 5 Hours from Dock to Dock $500.00 this trip is usually within 5 miles of shore. 

• Full Day Trip- 8 Hours from Dock to Dock $800.00 this trip consists of fishing within 10 miles of shore.  

• Full Day Outer Island Trip- 9 Hours Dock to Dock $950.00 this is your best chance for larger fish. This trip is usually 18 to 25 miles from port and is in the outer edge of the Apostle Islands. 

Washburn Sports was started in 2013 as a gun store and still operates as a Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer. Starting 2022 we are expanding into guided charter fishing . Your Captain Nick Suminski is US Coast Guard Licensed Captain in Wisconsin. Captain Suminski has over 20 years of fishing experience on Lake Superior. The type of fish you can catch on your trip are Lake Trout, Coho Salmon, King Salmon, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, or Splake. It's also possible that you may hook into a Walleye or Northern Pike depending on time of year. We generally leave from the Washburn Marina located in Washburn Wisconsin. We also do fish from other ports such as Bayfield, Red Cliff, and Saxon Harbor. All fishing is in the Chequamegon Bay and charter fishing Apostle Islands waters.
